Activities
As a blaster you will work for clients in industry, such as a waste plant.
In these power stations, surfaces such as boilers must be thoroughly cleaned regularly.
Rust and dirt are then removed, including by blasting the surface.
Blasting means that the surface is sanded smooth and clean by means of, for example, granules that are blown over a surface by a compressor.
It is a precise job, because the dirt and rust must be removed, but the underlayer must remain intact. It is also physically more demanding work.
You work in different spaces, you bend, climb and you can also work in smaller spaces. Is the blasting done? Then you roll up your sleeves as an industrial cleaner.
So you are a jack of all trades. And you come to various locations within the industry, behind gates that remain closed to most people.
