Do you know what happens when you throw away plastic trash? You probably never think about it, just like most people. But behind that waste is a whole process. What is done with this waste? Where does it end up and what has to happen before our waste can be recycled again?

If you work as a sorter, you know all about it. Because you will be working behind the scenes at a company that deals with the recycling of plastic waste. And in the world of recycling, there are great opportunities for you!

Tasks

In the factory where you will be working, plastic waste is separated. 90% of the separation is done by machines. Then the waste ends up in two sorting cabins. In each cabin there are 2 conveyor belts. Here the waste is further separated manually by the sorters. Waste that passes by on the belt, but does not belong here, you remove manually and throw in the right bin. Besides sorting on the conveyor belt, you will also be involved in cleaning the machines and cleaning and keeping the workplace clean.

Working days and times:

You will work full-time in 2 shifts: Monday through Friday 08:00 - 16:00 and Monday through Thursday 16:00 - 01:00. Eventually it will go to 3 shifts,
So for this position it is important that you are available full-time and can work day shifts and evening shifts.

What do you bring?

- You speak and understand Dutch or English.

- You live in Rotterdam and can get to the Waalhaven plant independently. Please note, public transport is not an option due to the changing shifts.

- You have a VCA certificate or are willing to obtain one through us.

- You have no objection to dirty work, you work with waste.

- Standing work is no problem for you.

- You can work with personal protective equipment such as a mouth mask, gloves, etc.
